Filegiga is built to keep file handling simple and transparent. This page explains what we process, what we store, and how browser-based tools differ from any future server-side tools.
This Privacy Policy explains how Filegiga handles information when you use the website and its tools. By using Filegiga, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Browser-based tools
Many Filegiga tools are designed to run entirely in your browser. For those tools, your file or text input is processed on your device and does not need to be uploaded to Filegiga servers to produce a result.
Examples of browser-based tools may include:
- image conversion and resizing
- image compression
- PDF merge and split
- JSON formatting
- Base64 encoding and decoding
- local file hash generation
2. Future server-side tools
Some tools may require server-side processing in the future, for example heavier document transformations or advanced compression workflows. When a tool uses server-side processing, Filegiga should clearly say so on that specific tool page.
Where server-side processing is used, the goal is to process files temporarily, keep retention short, avoid permanent storage unless necessary, and delete temporary files after processing or within a limited cleanup window.
3. Information we may collect
Filegiga may collect limited operational data such as:
- standard request logs
- IP address and device or browser metadata
- error logs and diagnostics
- basic usage and performance information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service
This information is used for service reliability, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and product improvement.
4. Cookies and similar technologies

Browser-based tools do not require server-side file retention for the core task. For any future server-side tool, Filegiga should retain uploaded files only for as long as reasonably necessary to complete processing, protect the service, and handle short-lived operational issues.

Filegiga does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with infrastructure or service providers only where needed to host, secure, operate, or maintain the service, and only to the extent reasonably necessary.
7. Security
Filegiga aims to use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the service, including file type validation, abuse controls, rate limiting, and cleanup of temporary processing data where applicable. No system can guarantee perfect security, so you should avoid uploading highly sensitive material unless you are comfortable with the relevant risk.
8. Children's privacy
Filegiga is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
Filegiga may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version posted on this page will apply to ongoing use of the service.
